Info about Marco's next tournament

The China Open (formerly the Beijing Salem Open) is a professional tennis tournament in Beijing, China. It was included in the 2005 schedule of both the ATP Tour and the WTA Tour. The tournament gives the winner the sum of $500,000.In 2005 Nadal won this tournament and in 2006 so did Marcos. In the final he played Mario Ancic. The final score was 2-0 sets to Marcos.

Marco's next tournament

Marcos will enter the China Open (Beijing Tennis Center ), where he will attempt to defend his title. The tournament will start on the 10th of September and will finish on the the 16th of the same month. The surface of the stadium is hard.

US OPEN

Marcos Baghdatis went up against Max Mirnyi in a First Round match at the 2007 US open. He lost the first set 6-3, he fought hard in the 2nd set but lost 7-5. In the 3rd set Marcos showed signs of recovery since he won the set 3-6. In the final set, when the score was 6-6, everybody thought Marcos would equalize, but unfortunately he lost 7-6. The final score of the match was 3-2 to Mirnyi after a three-hour-eight-minute battle.

"I love playing here and it is great playing here, but when you lose everything is so bad. But it was a great match today, great atmosphere. I had fun on the court, really. At the end the crowd was good, but then I lost", Marcos said after the match.
